Love Is...

Writer: Kimberlyn AbbeyKimberlyn Abbey

As we fight the global pandemic of Covid-19, there are many wonderful and heroic stories from the frontlines that just warms the heart. How brave and selfless of these people - from every part of this globe who are caring for some, cooking and cleaning for others, and some even volunteering to cut grass or buy food. How absolutely brave and selfless.

Sometimes it's easy to see the bad in things and people; yet, we are called to LOVE no matter the situation or circumstance. It's not about the big things we do that matters, but more about the love we show to others that make them gravitate towards us and/or the God we serve.

One of my favorite quotes is by Mother Theresa who talks about doing small things with immeasurable love. And I dare think... what if we made a commitment to walk this out every day? The world just could be a little brighter, a little and sweeter, and a little kinder. So whether you choose to buy someone a cup of coffee, or groceries or cut the grass, do it with so much love they are left in awe. Let us be intentional about loving people regardless of if they ever loved us back or said thank you. Let us be intentional about loving others regardless of their social/economic background. Let us be intentional about loving people who have been condemned, abused, broken or ostracized. At the end of the day... that's what Jesus does.

“Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.” –Mother Teresa
